Six of the best… Mobile handset ads

Smartphones, Android, iPhones - mobile handsets have been in the news a lot this year. So let’s take a look at some of the best advertising the handset brands have come up with.

You have probably seen this spot a million times already, but this Cannes winner by JWT Beijing for Nokia never gets boring. It is a limited-edition campaign in memory of Bruce Lee. Initially for China only, the campaign spread like wildfire across the globe.

Motorola may have hit hard times, but it was in its element when it first launched its Razr model. This spot by Ogilvy & Mather Beijing back in 2006 picked up awards at the Clio and London International Awards.

Here’s another great ad from Motorola - Ogilvy Beijing’s comical ‘Engineers’ spot.

Sony Ericsson has always been big on music, but this ad in Japan takes a different focus. The ad shows how customers can choose their own mobile cases for their handsets to fit their personalities. Saatchi & Saatchi is behind this one.

LG in the US recently rolled out its ‘Give it a ponder‘ campaign. The awareness ads for teenagers warns about text messaging. Y&R New York is behind the campaign. Here’s one TVC from the campaign. The elderly man is America’s famous writer, poet and actor James Lipton.

No one can resist cute baby animals. Samsung used this wining formula in its titled ad ‘38 cute animals, 1 cool screen, 8 different uses’ campaign developed by The Viral Factory in the States.
